Job description
At the IJsselbolder, you will work in a unique combination of existing homes and new construction. Together, they form one strong EVB cluster where adults and aging clients with Severe Intellectual Disabilities live. The environment is modern, bright, clear, and offers exactly what they need: structure, safety, and peace. Here, with your knowledge and skills, you can truly make a difference.
Want to take a look at the IJsselbolder in advance? Register here for an experience moment!
This is You- You have a minimum of level 5 work and thinking level. Preferably, you have experience in disability care. You are willing to follow (practical) training if necessary;
- You are proactive, decisive, and take responsibility within your team;
- You can give and receive feedback, reflecting on your own actions;
- In moments of tension, you know how to bring back calm. You set boundaries when necessary, with an eye for the person behind the behavior.
What Will You Do
You start your day in one of the homes at Commissarislaan 35. Perhaps it's an existing home where the rhythm has been familiar for years, or the new construction part where we are building a place together where residents will feel at home step by step.
Even before someone says anything, you see how a client is doing. A small movement, a subtle glance, a change in tempo, you recognize it. While you participate in daily support, you constantly look at what someone truly needs. You observe, identify, and translate that into a support plan that suits this client.
You discuss findings with colleagues and involve them in what is helpful. Sometimes that means bringing calm to tension. Sometimes it's about brainstorming creative solutions. Sometimes it's about that one small step that succeeds today.
And continuously, you work together with the behavioral expert and team manager to direct the care. You maintain an overview, reflect, and ensure that the support within the team is correct and growing. In this way, you build, together with the team, a safe, warm environment where residents feel seen and cared for.
