We are currently looking for a Peripatetic Chef (Bank) to join the Barchester family to help support our care homes in and around our the region. Great opportunity to help support several teams and homes in delivering high quality fresh food. As a Peripatetic Chef, you will be a key member of our catering teams, supporting the Chef and catering team in delivering high quality food services to our residents. You will travel between our care homes in the region, helping our catering teams with daily duties, including cooking and serving meals, supporting special events and ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy. The role of Peripatetic Chef is all about providing high quality food services whilst supporting a team. You will support the team in the day to day running of the kitchen in a safe and supportive manner. You will be helping to create a positive environment, ensuring that a warm and welcoming atmosphere is always in place. The main responsibilities of the role will include: * Preparing and cooking meals to the highest standards, using fresh, seasonal ingredients. * Supporting the Chef and catering team in the delivery of a high-quality food service. * Ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy, following all hygiene and food safety guidelines. * Supporting special events and functions within the home. * Maintaining accurate records of food stocks and wastage. * Training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff. What you will need: * A recognised professional catering qualification. * Previous experience in a similar role. * A passion for food and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A flexible and adaptable approach to work. * The ability to work as part of a team.
