Job Summary:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will oversee daily operations at peat production sites. This includes supervising harvesting activities, managing personnel, coordinating maintenance, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, managing budgets, monitoring inventory and harvesting performance, and providing on-site training to staff. The role contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency across all sites.
Compensation:
$90,000 annually

Job Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise peat production activities (equipment, harvesting, budgets, etc.)
Lead, manage, and motivate a team of bog supervisors
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) standards
Collaborate with logistics, mechanical maintenance, and processing departments to optimize operational efficiency
Prepare, manage, and monitor operational budgets
Monitor inventory, harvesting reports, and budget performance
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance work methods and efficiency
Provide on-site training and guidance to employees
Qualifications:
Degree in administration or minimum 5 years of experience in operations management
Natural leadership skills and excellent communication abilities
Strong organizational and planning skills
Good knowledge of heavy machinery and outdoor operations
Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple sites
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of HS&E standards (an asset)
Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
Valid driver’s license required
