Job Title: PE & Outdoor Learning Lead Location: Ashley Park School, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 7LR Salary: Up to £30,450.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata ) Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Start Date: March 2026 UK applicants only. About the Role The PE & Outdoor Learning Lead plays a key role in promoting physical wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and positive engagement in learning across Ashley Park School. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the school's Physical Education (PE) and outdoor learning provision, working closely with colleagues to ensure that all students have access to high-quality PE and outdoor learning experiences. This includes planning, delivering and evaluating PE and outdoor learning lessons, as well as supporting staff development and training in these areas. The role also involves working with external partners and agencies to develop and maintain relationships that benefit the school and its students. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and develop the school's Physical Education (PE) and outdoor learning provision, ensuring high-quality experiences for all students. • Plan, deliver and evaluate PE and outdoor learning lessons, taking into account the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities. • Support staff development and training in PE and outdoor learning, working closely with colleagues to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality provision. • Work with external partners and agencies to develop and maintain relationships that benefit the school and its students. • Collaborate with other curriculum leaders to ensure that PE and outdoor learning are integrated into the broader curriculum offer. • Develop and implement policies, procedures and practices for PE and outdoor learning, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. • Monitor and evaluate the impact of PE and outdoor learning on student outcomes and well-being, using data and evidence to inform future planning and development. • Represent the school in external partnerships and collaborations related to PE and outdoor learning. Requirements: • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area (e.g. Physical Education, Sports Science, Outdoor Education). • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role or as a physical education teacher. • Proven track record of leading and developing PE and outdoor learning provision. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, students and external partners. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands. • Commitment to promoting physical wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and positive engagement in learning for all students.
