Payroll Team Manager Position (New Role, New Department)

Job description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Manager to lead a new international payroll team for our client organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the team and providing comprehensive payroll services to clients in the German-speaking market.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of several people, setting priorities and motivating employees;
- Oversee the implementation of complex payroll services in accordance with existing procedures and standards;
- Plan operational work, control quality and consistency processes;
- Optimize resources and implemented solutions in the payroll area;
- Identify and implement improvements in payroll systems and tools;
- Generate HR reports, analyses, and summaries for internal and external purposes;
- Provide guidance to managers on labor law, HR procedures, and employment conditions;
- Participate in development initiatives and improving payroll services.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of German labor law and regulations;
- At least 5 years of experience as a manager in the payroll area for companies in Germany or Austria;
- Knowledge of German language at level C1;
- Experience in comprehensive monthly and annual processes (e.g. input data, working hours, civil law contracts, benefits, deductions);
- Mileage experience in employee lifecycle (onboarding, contract changes, offboarding);
- Knowledge of SAP - desirable;
- Experience in transformation projects and process takeovers;
- Bachelor's degree or higher, desirable postgraduate studies or specialized courses.
