Job description
A leading Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead their national payroll function. This is a key leadership role overseeing a small team and managing end-to-end payroll for approximately 1,100 employees across multiple entities and Awards.
Working within a collaborative People & Culture function and partnering closely with Finance, you’ll take full ownership of the payroll function and play a significant role in an upcoming systems and process transformation project.

- $150–$160K + super
- 1 - 2 days per week in the North Sydney office

- Lead, mentor and support a team of three payroll professionals
- Oversee monthly, fortnightly and transitioning payroll cycles
- Ensure accuracy, compliance and data integrity across multiple Awards
- Partner with P&C and Finance on reporting, audits and governance
- Drive process improvement, system efficiencies and future-state design
- Support an upcoming payroll system review and transformation project
- 5+ years of end-to-end payroll leadership experience
- Advanced knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards and compliance
- Strong experience with iChris/Chris21
- Confident leader with excellent stakeholder management
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong analytical and systems mindset
