Part-Time Accountant

Our client, a growing local company located in southeast Calgary, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant for a temporary part-time position (1–3 months) . This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a close-knit, family-oriented culture and play a key role in transitioning their accounting records to QuickBooks Online . The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and problem solver , comfortable working independently to assess current processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices . The role will include the following responsibilities: * Transition accounting records from the current system to QuickBooks Online . * Reconcile bank and credit card statements . * Prepare journal entries and general ledger postings . * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable . * Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures . * Maintain organized and accurate financial records . * Other duties as required. Qualifications: * Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounting . * Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required . * Experience with other accounting software is an asset . * Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices . * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy . * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively . * Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
