Job Title: Paramedic Department : Emergency Medical Services Location : St. Lawrence Health Hours Per Week : 40 Schedule : Variable SUMMARY: The Paramedic is a frontline healthcare professionals who will provide emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings. They respond to calls from dispatch and assess patients, administer life-saving interventions, and transport patients to medical facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responds to emergency calls, assess patients’ conditions, and determine appropriate medical care. Provides advanced life support, including but not limited to, medication administration, endotracheal intubation, and cardiac monitoring. Operates and maintains emergency medical equipment, such as ventilators, defibrillators, and medication pumps. Transports patients safely and efficiently to medical facilities. Documents patient care and medical interventions accurately and thoroughly. Communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses. Adheres to all relevant protocols, policies, and procedures. Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Participates in continuing education and training to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Current New York State Paramedic certification. Current CPR and ACLS certifications. Valid driver's license. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
