Job Title: Paramedic Department : EMS Location : Gouverneur Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: variable 12 hour shifts SUMMARY: The Paramedic is a frontline healthcare professionals who will provide emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings. They respond to calls from dispatch and assess patients, administer life-saving interventions, and transport patients to medical facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responds to emergency calls, assess patients’ conditions, and determine appropriate medical interventions; administers medications, performs basic life support techniques, and provides patient education; transports patients to medical facilities for further treatment; maintains accurate records of patient care and treatment; participates in quality improvement activities to improve patient outcomes; collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in paramedicine or related field preferred; current certification as a Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or state equivalent required; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and patients up to 50 pounds; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
