Experienced Painter – VIBGYOR PAINTING PTY LTD

Location: Clyde North, VIC

Salary: $72,000 - $80,000 per annum + Superannuation

Employment Type: Full-Time

VIBGYOR PAINTING PTY LTD is a growing painting company based in Clyde. We are currently seeking an experienced painter to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation: Prepare the site for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing old paint, wallpapers, and other coverings where required.

• Application of Paints: Apply paint and varnishes using different brushes, rollers, and assist in spraying paint. Apply all types of paints, including acrylic, oil-based paints, weather shield paint, water-based, and glossy paints.

• Final Coat Application: Apply the final coat of paint where required to ensure a smooth and durable finish.

• Protective Measures: Secure the painting area from any damage by laying drop sheets, plastic sheets, and other protective materials to prevent paint splattering on adjacent areas.

• Masking and Sealing: Apply masking tape around windows and glass, and secure all openings and spaces between doors to prevent dust and debris from entering or leaving the area.

• Color Matching and Mixing: Mix and match paints and stains to match specified colors and textures, providing guidance to clients on color choices and finishes.

• Decorative Techniques: Use specialized techniques for decorative finishes such as textures, faux finishes, and stenciling when requested by clients.

• Tool Operation: Operate and maintain all painting tools and equipment, including ladders, scaffolds, and safety gear, ensuring proper safety measures on-site.

• Project Management: Work collaboratively with site supervisors to meet deadlines, maintain workflow, and deliver work on time.

• Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their preferences, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.

• Site Cleanup: Clean and organize the site after completing the job, removing any waste materials and ensuring a neat space for handover.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in painting

• Certificate III in Painting and Decorating required

• White Card (construction induction card) required

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A valid driver’s license preferred

• Excellent communication skills
