Painter

IT SERVICES GROUP PTY LTD provides reliable trade, maintenance, and project support services across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team and deliver high-quality finishes across a range of projects.

Position Overview

As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings to a high standard. You will work on various sites while ensuring safety compliance, quality workmanship, and timely project completion.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

• Remove old paint, wallpaper, and surface contaminants
• Clean, sand, and smooth surfaces prior to painting
• Repair cracks and imperfections using fillers, putty, or plaster
• Seal surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion

• Apply paint, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Ensure consistent coverage, finish quality, and attention to detail

• Select appropriate paints and coatings based on surface and environment
• Calculate required material quantities
• Mix paints to achieve specified colours, textures, and finishes

• Set up and safely use ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment
• Protect furniture, fixtures, floors, and surrounding areas using drop cloths and masking materials

• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas after completion
• Remove masking tape, coverings, and temporary fixtures
• Leave the worksite clean, safe, and presentable

• Follow all workplace health and safety regulations
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper ventilation
• Identify and report hazards on site

• Understand client requirements and design preferences
• Provide recommendations on finishes and materials
• Work efficiently within project timelines and budgets

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Painter or in a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices
