OT Security Engineer with Remote Option (m/f/d)

PolyTALENT is directly recruiting for an established company in the renewable energy sector that is further expanding the security of its biogas and industrial plants. They are seeking an OT Security Engineer (m/f/d) to plan and technically implement OT/ICS security measures in production-related environments and effectively integrate them with IT, automation, and external partners.

The position is primarily remote, with occasional on-site visits at locations in the Berlin, Brandenburg, and Eastern Germany region.

Responsibilities

• Technical security and further development of OT environments at biogas plant sites

• Development and implementation of OT/ICS security concepts for production-related systems

• Analysis of risks and vulnerabilities in OT, ICS, and adjacent IT infrastructure

• Design of network segmentation, zone/conduit models, and secure system access

• Introduction and optimization of remote access solutions for service partners and external service providers

• Participation in backup, restore, and emergency concepts for critical plant and control systems

• Coordination with IT, automation, control engineering, plant engineering, and external partners

• Maintenance of technical documentation, security policies, and operational processes

• Occasional on-site visits at plant locations in Berlin, Brandenburg, and Eastern Germany

Profile

• Several years of practical experience in OT Security, Industrial Security, Automation, Control Engineering, Network Engineering, or IT/OT

• Good understanding of industrial systems such as PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, control systems, or remote control technology

• Practical experience with network segmentation, secure remote access, and backup/restore concepts

• Experience e.g. as an OT Security Engineer (m/f/d), ICS Security Engineer (m/f/d), Automation Engineer (m/f/d), Network Engineer (m/f/d), or Control Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

• Ideally, knowledge of IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or comparable security standards

• Very good German language skills and good English for technical coordination

• Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented approach to work in a technical environment

• Willingness to travel approximately 20% for regional assignments at plant locations

• Residence or good accessibility in the Berlin, Brandenburg, or Eastern Germany region
