Job description
For an established company in the renewable energies sector, PolyTALENT is looking for an OT Security Engineer (m/f/d) for the Saerbeck location. They are seeking a hands-on personality who will make industrial networks, SCADA/PLC environments, and remote access in biogas plants more secure and jointly develop them effectively with IT, automation, and service partners.
The role is suitable for, for example, specialists from OT Security, Industrial Cyber Security, Automation Technology, Control Engineering, SCADA, PLC, Remote Control Technology, or industrial network technology.

Responsibilities
Securing and further developing OT/ICS environments at biogas plant locations
Creation and implementation of security concepts for PLC, SCADA, HMI, and control systems
Conception of network segmentation, zone models, and secure communication paths
Introduction and hardening of remote access solutions for service providers and service teams
Participation in vulnerability, risk, and action management for OT and adjacent IT
Development and optimization of backup, restore, and emergency concepts for production-related systems
Coordination with IT, automation, plant engineering, and external integrators
Maintenance of technical documentation, security policies, and operational OT processes
Profile
Professional experience in OT Security, Industrial Security, Automation, Control Engineering, SCADA, or industrial IT
Good understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI, control systems, remote control technology, or industrial networks
Practical experience with network segmentation, secure remote access, and backup/restore scenarios
Suitable background, e.g., as an OT Security Engineer (m/f/d), ICS Security Engineer (m/f/d), Automation Engineer (m/f/d), SCADA Engineer (m/f/d), Control Engineer (m/f/d), or Network Engineer (m/f/d)
Ideally, knowledge of IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or comparable security standards
Very good German skills and good English skills for technical coordination
Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working
Willingness to travel of approx. 20% for coordination at plant locations
