OT Engineer

Are you passionate about automation, industrial IT systems, and modern production technologies? Then you're in the right place with us! For our Operational Technology Engineering team in Basel, we are looking for a dedicated personality who will maintain and develop our production systems and actively contribute to the digitalization of our production processes. You will work closely with the Technology, IT, and Production departments and make an important contribution to the further development of our production sites.

Your tasks:

• Ensuring the reliable operation of our OT systems in the production environment, particularly in the areas of SCADA, MES, and WMS systems

• Configuring, commissioning, and further developing automation solutions as well as supporting technical disruptions in 3rd level support

• Developing automation concepts and feasibility studies for the optimization and digitalization of our production processes

• Integrating new automation plants into the existing system landscape and conducting functional and integration tests

• Participating in and taking responsibility for projects related to Operational Technology, Automation, and Smart Factory

• Evaluating suitable hardware, control systems, and software solutions as well as close collaboration with the Technology, IT, and Production departments

What you bring:

• Completed technical basic training, for example as an Automaton Technician or in a comparable technical profession, with further education at HF/FH level, for example in Automation, Systems Engineering, or a related field, as well as a strong understanding of IT

• Experience in the field of automation or industrial IT, ideally in food production, logistics, process, or industrial automation

• Good knowledge in the support of IT systems, particularly Windows environments, servers, and networks

• Experience in developing automation concepts as well as understanding the integration and communication of different systems

• Knowledge of PLC programming and visualization, for example with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, or WinCC V7/V8, is an advantage

• Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken

• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working as well as enjoyment of collaboration with different specialist departments
