Oracle Database Administrator m/f/d

Summary The main function of this role is the operational administration, stabilization, and further development of the Oracle database landscape within IT Infrastructure & Operations. The focus is on the secure, highly available, and performant operation of business-critical Oracle databases, as well as consulting on infrastructure and modernization projects. Tasks Operational Administration Operation, maintenance, and further development of the Oracle database landscape Installation, configuration, and updating of Oracle Database instances Execution of database upgrades, patch management, and release changes Monitoring of performance, capacities, and system statuses Execution of backup, restore, and recovery processes Management of database users, roles, and authorization concepts Support for incident, problem, and change management Performance & Security Analysis and optimization of database structures and execution plans Performance tuning of Oracle databases, storage, and I/O components Ensuring compliance, security, and data protection requirements Implementation of Oracle Security Best Practices, encryption, and hardening measures Monitoring and optimization of critical interfaces to business applications and third-party systems Execution of health checks and performance assessments Architecture & Infrastructure Setup, operation, and further development of high availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard) Support for migrations, database consolidations, and infrastructure projects Participation in cloud, hybrid, or modernization initiatives Consulting for business departments and project teams regarding database architectures Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and operational processes Support for capacity and lifecycle planning Must Haves Several years of experience in the administration of Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, or newer) Deep understanding of Oracle Database architecture Experience with backup and recovery concepts (RMAN) Experience with high availability solutions such as Oracle RAC and/or Oracle Data Guard Good knowledge in performance tuning and analysis of execution plans Experience in patch and release management of Oracle environments Knowledge in the area of database security, roles, and authorization concepts Experience with monitoring and management tools (Oracle Enterprise Manager, OEM, or similar) Experience with SQL/MySQL Nice to Have Experience with Oracle Exadata Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Knowledge in Shell Scripting, Python, or automation tools Experience with Linux/Unix system administration Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate or data replication technologies Experience in large enterprise or regulated IT environments Understanding of ITIL processes and operating models Experience with migrations from on-premise to cloud environments
