Optics Design and Test Engineer II

Duration: Full-time Location: Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru Qualification: Master’s degree in Optics, Optical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with 3 years of relevant opto-mechanical systems development experience Job Responsibilities • Optical System Design & Analysis Lead design, modelling, and performance analysis of optical assemblies for space laser communication payloads. Conduct tolerance analysis, stray light analysis, and system performance predictions using Zemax, Code V, optics software tools. Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, including 2D and 3D drawings, and perform simulations to validate designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of optical systems into overall spacecraft or payload architecture. • Test and Validation Plan and execute comprehensive test plans for optical assemblies, including environmental testing, functional testing, and performance verification. Utilize test equipment such as spectrometers, interferometers, and other specialized tools to measure and analyze system performance. Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, including test procedures, results, and conclusions. • Other Responsibilities Participate in design reviews, test planning, and technical discussions with cross-functional teams. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in optics and photonics. Contribute to the development of new technologies and processes that improve optical system design, testing, and validation.
