Operator

As an Operator within our production department, you will be at the heart of our glass organization. You will be part of one of our three sub-departments: Batch & Furnace, IS or Mould. Each of these departments has its own specialization; from mixing and melting raw materials to forming glass and maintaining molds.
Within each operator function, the emphasis lies on responsibilities and main tasks differently, depending on where you will end up, your task package consists of the following tasks:

• You ensure a good reception of raw materials and glass fragments by analyzing them and administratively handling their receipt correctly
• You operate the mix installations continuously from the control room and report abnormalities and try to resolve them immediately
• You perform regular checks on recipes in the system, follow the levels of silos and escalate if necessary
• You perform controls on raw materials, recipe, air humidity, temperature, oxygen, mixers, droplet or bottle samples… to maintain quality, safety and hygiene at a high level
• You clean the department regularly, including mix installations, transport belts, filters, silos,…
• You act as first responder in case of technical malfunctions and escalate if necessary
• You ensure a stable melting process from the control room by overseeing parameters and measurements and filling out reports for this purpose
• You perform certain maintenance tasks linked to the glass oven (furnace)
• You provide shift handover at the end of your shift to your incoming team

Depending on the department where you will end up, there are also other profile requirements. Our recruiters review and discuss this extensively with you during the selection process. The following criteria are important:

• You have experience in a production environment or are motivated to gain experience here
• You stand open to training sessions on various training locations
• You can work with a computer
• You speak very good Dutch (English is a plus)
• You actively contribute to a fine team spirit and are helpful to colleagues
• You are flexible towards task package, especially in the start-up phase
