Operator - Loader / Exacavator

Job Description We are seeking an experienced and driven heavy machinery operator to join our friendly team at Living Earth. About the role Based in Mangere, Auckland, you will be responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of equipment used to transport, turn, mix, shred and screen organic material in the production of compost and growing media. This key operational role will require someone who is motivated and diligent with the ability to analyse issues critically and optimise outcomings. You will also be expected to work safely at all times, adhering to our company's safety policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include: • Operating heavy machinery such as loaders and excavators in a safe and efficient manner. • Conducting routine maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend lifespan. • Monitoring and controlling the production process to achieve high-quality outputs. • Identifying and reporting any issues or defects with equipment, and implementing corrective actions. • Collaborating with other team members to achieve shared goals and objectives. • Maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance and performance. • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and outcomes. • Working flexible hours including weekends and public holidays as required. • Adhering to all company policies and procedures. What we're looking for: • A minimum of 2 years' experience operating heavy machinery, preferably in a similar industry or environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with others. • Ability to lift up to 25kg and work at heights (if required). • A strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental sustainability.
