Job description

About Us

Kijimea – From Research. For Your Life. Since our founding in 2011, we have pursued a clear vision: we want to specifically utilize the potential of the microbiota (bacteria) in our gut for a longer and healthier life – for everyone.

We achieved a first major milestone as early as 2013 with the discovery and clinical research of the unique bacterial strain B. bifidum MIMBb75 (Kijimea Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Since then, we have been able to noticeably improve the lives of millions of irritable bowel syndrome patients worldwide. Today, B. bifidum MIMBb75 is one of the best-researched bacterial strains worldwide. Its efficacy and its unique mechanism of action have been proven and published in numerous clinical studies – including in renowned specialist journals such as The Lancet.

We work with leading research institutions such as Charité Berlin to investigate the connections between the microbiota (bacteria in our gut) and allergies, skin diseases, and mental health disorders. In short: we are investigating how the bacteria in our gut influence a longer and healthier life.

Today, we are among the fastest-growing healthcare companies worldwide. We reach our customers through various channels: direct communication with doctors and pharmacists, as well as print, TV, and digital marketing. To further expand our strong growth in Europe, we are looking for outstanding talents to support us in this mission. Our goal is clearly defined: by 2028, we want to make Kijimea the world's largest DTC probiotic brand, thereby giving over 50 million people a better life each year.

Does this sound exciting to you? Then apply now! We look forward to getting to know you.

Your Mission With Us

Do you have a passion for supply chain management and logistics? Then become part of our team as Operations & Supply Chain Manager Italy (w/m/d). The presence of the Kijimea brand in our most important foreign market, Italy, is in your hands: from registering our products with authorities and service providers, to ensuring product availability at our logistics providers, wholesalers, and pharmacies, to answering customer questions and concerns. You will also be responsible for distributing product inventories across our international markets and sales channels, and for managing logistics service providers for our B2C and e-commerce sales channels.

Your Tasks

  • You manage the operational day-to-day business of our supply chain and are the first point of contact for our logistics partners, wholesalers, pharmacies, and online sales partners in our largest foreign market, Italy.

  • You keep an eye on the product supply for the market and manage product movements within the supply chain.

  • You are in close contact with our most important customers in pharmaceutical wholesale and international online pharmacies.

  • Through intensive market observation, you initiate and lead your own projects for market development and the stable growth of our product portfolio – you are responsible for the market outcome.

  • You are responsible for registering new products in Italy. For this, you will liaise with authorities, consultants, and information service providers, and compile all necessary documents.

  • Based on sales figures and forecasts, you determine the distribution of our product inventories across our international markets and sales channels, and organize transfers between our warehouse locations and to Amazon to ensure product availability in all channels.

  • You take over the operational management and cost controlling, including reporting for the logistics service providers for our online shops.

  • You optimize processes in the supply chain through the use of digitalization and artificial intelligence.

  • You act as the interface to external service providers, working closely with procurement, product management, and controlling.

  • You are prepared for occasional business trips to service providers and business partners.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a degree, preferably in business administration, supply chain management, international business, or a comparable commercial apprenticeship.

  • You have gained initial professional experience in the healthcare or food industry, retail, or e-commerce, and are familiar with the supply chain area.

  • You are clever, smart, pragmatic, and dynamic, and typically find good solutions quickly for opportunities and hurdles.

  • You are a true team player with a sense of responsibility and the necessary pragmatism to succeed in our fast-paced company. A highly developed ability to grasp things quickly, an understanding of numbers, and perseverance will help you here.

  • You master challenges in the supply chain through your independent and self-responsible way of working.

  • Proficient use of all common office programs as well as knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) complete your profile.

  • You speak German at least at B2 level and fluent English; knowledge of Italian is desirable.

Our Promise

We offer you a diverse, challenging job with exciting tasks and a broad spectrum of opportunities for shaping things! Our innovative environment enables your professional development with short decision-making paths, responsibility from day one, and the freedom to forge new paths. Individual learning and genuine purpose await you – give millions of people a new life with your personal contribution!
