Operations Manager (m/f/d)

SMARTVÉLO is a fast-growing company for sustainable e-mobility solutions. We develop e-cargo bikes that revolutionize urban everyday life and operate the service for our fleets via more than 50 hubs in Germany and the Netherlands. To maintain service quality at this pace, the operational processes behind it need a firm hand – that's exactly where you come in.

You will report directly to our Head of Operations and be responsible for daily operational business: you will keep an overview of ongoing projects, be the central point of contact for our team of over 10 field mechanics, and ensure that information flows cleanly between the field, warehouse, and office.

We are not looking for a long list of years of professional experience. If you think in a structured way, like to take responsibility, and are eager for operations, starting your career with us is also possible.

Tasks

• Daily operational business – you keep operations running, make independent decisions in everyday situations, and only escalate what really needs to be escalated
• Coordination and communication with our field team – deployment coordination, queries, information flow
• Tracking of small operational projects – you keep deadlines, responsibilities, and status in view and drive them forward
• Reporting to the Head of Operations – regular, clear overview of status, bottlenecks, and need for action
• Maintenance of our fleet system (Papaya) – vehicle uploads and transfers between hubs
• Preparatory KPI analyses for reporting and decision-making
• Inventory and availability – you coordinate inventories and spare parts orders and plan materials and tools so that our field mechanics are never without them
• Internal quality management of our service tickets including analysis and data preparation
• Complaint processes from registration to completion
• Fleet management of vehicles and batteries rented in the field as well as our internal vehicle fleet
• Participation in process optimizations for a scalable operational business
• Occasional on-site appointments – sporadically you will visit our hubs or partners to get a picture yourself (the focus is clearly in Cologne)

Qualification

• Completed university degree or a commercial/technical apprenticeship – e.g., Industrial Engineering, Logistics / Supply Chain, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Mobility or Transport Management. A specific degree is not a prerequisite, career starters are explicitly welcome.
• You are proficient in Excel and work in a structured, careful, and independent manner.
• You communicate clearly and reliably – both in writing and by phone – and are not afraid to follow up with the field team.
• You think analytically, maintain an overview even with many parallel topics, enjoy making your own decisions, and are hands-on.
• German very good, English proficient.
• You are eager for operations and to truly improve processes.
