Operations Director – Manufacturing Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng Reporting to: CEO Industry: Plastics Manufacturing | Injection Moulding Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview Our client, a well-established plastics manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Operations Director – Manufacturing to lead its largest South African manufacturing operation. This role holds full accountability for strategic execution, operational performance, financial outcomes, and people leadership, and leads the development of the company's overall operations strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives; • Leading and managing a team of operations managers, supervisors, and production staff; • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and optimize manufacturing processes; • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements; • Managing budgets and financial performance indicators; • Developing and implementing training programs for employees; • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing operations leadership role; • Proven track record of success in leading and managing teams to achieve operational excellence; • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies; • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
