Introduction ABOUT THE ROLE We have an exciting opportunity at our Hornby SPCA Op Shop for a permanent, part-time Op Shop Assistant to work Sundays and Mondays, 8:45 am - 5:15 pm. Our Hornby store is known for its friendly volunteer team, quality second-hand finds, and strong support from the local community. Whether you're working the shop floor, processing donations, or chatting with customers, you'll be making a difference every day Key Responsibilities Receive, sort, price, and merchandise donated goods in a way that makes them attractive to our customers Assist with processing cash transactions and handling customer queries Provide excellent customer service by being friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about the products we sell Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales targets and maintain store appearance Participate in visual merchandising and display of stock to create an inviting shopping environment Maintain accurate records of sales, donations, and stock levels as required Assist with receiving and processing donations from the public, including sorting, pricing, and displaying items Assist with maintaining a clean and organized store environment, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash Provide support for special events and promotions as needed ABOUT YOU We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working in retail, has excellent communication skills, and can work well under pressure. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
