Imagine: the ship cuts through rough seas, the crew is ready, and command relies on one thing to keep the operation going, your team. As a Warrant Officer Communications Service, you are the central point of all communication on board. You are the one who creates overview, maintains calm, and, together with your team, ensures that all important information reaches the right place quickly, securely, and precisely at the right time.

On the bridge and in the Network Operations Center (NOC) of an operational unit, you are the team leader. You assign tasks within your team, monitor information flows, and keep the group's focus sharp. You are the link that ensures command remains connected to allies, other ships, and shore command centers at all times. Without your leadership and your team, the information chain stops. Without connections, no operation.

What you will do

Communication is the nervous system of a mission. If communication fails, the entire operation stops. As a Corporal Communications Service, you are the team leader who ensures that every link continues to function. Thanks to you, the ship remains connected, informed, and in control. Without your team, there are no connections. Without connections, no mission.

As a future team leader within the Communications Service, you will bring your team to the heart of maritime communication:

• You build, secure, and monitor the communication lines that are essential for every mission.
• You work with advanced communication systems such as transmitters, receivers, computer networks, and satellite communication.
• You provide command with expert advice on the deployment, capabilities, and procedures of communication.
• You monitor and manage encryption keys.
• You are the voice of the ship and maintain contact with military and civilian units.
• You support the network administrator with Service Desk tasks for which you and your team are responsible. You delve into IT and network management, the technical backbone of all communication.
• You monitor, coordinate, and maintain the information flows between command and all participating units.

Where you will work

After completing your training, you will start working at the Navy's Communications Service.
You will work as a team leader on the bridge and in the Network Operations Center on one of our naval ships, where you and your team will manage communication flows worldwide.
Exercises and deployments are a standard part of your work.

After completing the internship period, you will follow the Advanced Vocational Training (VVO), where you will lay the foundation for your career as a team leader.

You will work in a close-knit team and see the world from unique places at sea and on shore. You will continue to develop yourself through military and civilian training and technical courses. You will grow into a Warrant Officer/Sergeant Communications Service, with the possibility to specialize as a Communications Controller or Network Administrator.
