Job description

Introductory text

Are you interested in communication technology? And do you possess at least a VMBO GL/TL diploma? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Communications Service (telecommunications and ICT), you will learn to lead a group of military personnel, ensuring that the correct information always reaches colleagues safely and on time.

What you will do

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Communications Service, you are responsible for the communication resources within the Army. You will install, operate, and maintain all telecommunication equipment and connections. Think of telephones and computers, but also radio and satellite connections. Additionally, you will also handle mail delivery. You will transfer your knowledge to your fellow soldiers, so they can also operate all systems.

PLUS POINTS OF THIS FUNCTION

  • Salary: your gross base salary, with allowances and our favorable travel expenses, pension, and health insurance scheme, will result in a pleasant surprise net.
  • Work atmosphere: nowhere will you be part of such a close-knit team of colleagues as in the Armed Forces.
  • Growth opportunities: besides being an employer, the Armed Forces is also a large training institute where you can follow (paid) training courses to grow personally and professionally.

Where you will work

You will work at a unit of the Operational Support Command Land (OOCL), the headquarters of 1 (German/Netherlands) Corps in Stroe, or one of the two combat brigades: 13 Light Brigade in Oirschot or 43 Mechanized Brigade in Havelte.

Upon entering service, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. Afterward, you will undergo job-specific training at the School of Communications Service in Amersfoort. If you do not yet possess a driver's license, you will additionally follow driver training at the Training and Education Center Driving in Oirschot.

As a soldier, you will participate in various exercises. Furthermore, you must take into account that, like any soldier, you may be deployed on missions.

The Royal Netherlands Army considers your placement preference, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Vocational Technical Training.
