As a Non-Commissioned Officer Technician Weapons Systems, you will learn to lead a group of soldiers responsible for maintaining and repairing the Army's weapons.

What you will do

To ensure that all material that breaks down during deployment or exercise is quickly deployable again, the Army has repair units. These are responsible for the maintenance and repair of various weapon systems. As a Non-Commissioned Officer Technician Weapons Systems, you will work as a mechanic yourself, but you will also be trained as a supervisor. You will advise a group of soldiers on the use and maintenance of weapon systems and will be responsible for the material entrusted to you. You will also provide training for your people.

Where you will work

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Technician Weapons Systems, you will work at one of the Army units in the country. Before you start, you will follow the Non-Commissioned Officer Training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo. This training lasts 38 weeks and is concluded with a Technical Specialization Course at our Training and Education Center in Soesterberg. Once you are working, you will participate in exercises and may be deployed.

The Royal Netherlands Army takes your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Specialization Course.
