And do you want to perform maintenance and repair work so that these components are in perfect working order? Then a job as Onderofficier Technicus Avionica at Defensie is tailor-made for you. You will make a crucial contribution to the technical state of components from helicopters and aircraft of the Air Force.

This is what you'll do

Thanks to these advanced electronic components, the helicopters and aircraft of the Air Force are deployable under all weather conditions, both in the Netherlands and abroad. As Onderofficier Technicus Avionica, you will be responsible for maintaining these components. You will analyze complaints, repair or replace components, test systems after repair, and perform preventive maintenance. You will be deployed at 'component maintenance', on Woensdrecht airbase, or at Higher Level Assistance on location, where you will support an operational unit to get the aircraft or helicopter ready for use again. Wherever you work, your work is of vital importance.

This is where you'll work

After completing the military basic training at the Royal Military School Air Force (KMSL) in Woensdrecht, you will follow an education for Onderofficier Technicus Avionica. Subsequently, you will start working at the 981 squadron of the Air Support Command on Woensdrecht airbase. Here, you can further develop yourself and potentially stream into maintenance functions within ground-based systems of the Air Force (e.g., Patriot or Air Traffic Control).
