Then the job as a Non-Commissioned Officer Sports Instructor in the Army might be the job for you. In this role, you will ensure the physical and mental suitability of military personnel for operational deployment.

As part of this application, a level measurement is scheduled. The level measurement days will take place on February 18, May 8, September 9, and November 18, 2025.

What you will do

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Sports Instructor in the Army, you will become part of the Physical Education & Sports Organization, which provides guidance and training to military personnel in physical and mental aspects. You are responsible for keeping our men and women fit for duty and role. How? By giving sports lessons, but also by teaching them to push their limits and cope with fear. This way, you prepare both units and individuals for operational deployment.

Note: There are various start dates throughout the year. After applying, you will receive a personal application file, which includes a joining date. Please note: this is a fictional date and therefore incorrect. The start date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the fitness test, psychological examination, medical examination, and security screening, which are part of the application process. Once all these components have been successfully completed, your start date will be discussed and confirmed.

Where you will work

You will be placed at one of the four Army units in the Netherlands. You will give sports lessons and provide mental support to military units and individuals. You will participate in exercises and must take into account that you may be deployed abroad.

Before you start working, you will first complete a Non-Commissioned Officer training program at the Royal Military School (KMS) in Ermelo. This training lasts eight months and consists of: a Basic Training Royal Army (BOKL), in which you learn all basic military skills (3 months), an General Instruction Competence (AIB) course, in which you learn leadership (5 months). Finally, you will complete a Vocational Technical Training (VTO) at the Sports School in Amersfoort (16 weeks). After successfully completing your training, you will immediately begin your career as a Non-Commissioned Officer Sports Instructor.

The Royal Army will consider your placement preference, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Vocational Technical Training.
