What you will do

As a Non-Commissioned Officer (Bio)Medical Laboratory Technician, you will provide second-line laboratory diagnostics anywhere in the world for crisis management tasks, humanitarian aid, and exercises. You will perform clinical chemical, hematological, blood transfusion, and microbiological examinations, be on call for availability services, and maintain the mobile laboratory and all associated diagnostic materials. You will also provide instruction and guidance to new colleagues.
You will be the specialist advisor to the company commander on the deployment (readiness) of diagnostic equipment and the laboratory. Furthermore, you are expected to participate in activities aimed at maintaining your skills as a soldier (sports classes, basic military lessons).

Where you will work

As a Non-Commissioned Officer (Bio)Medical Laboratory Technician, you can be stationed at 400 Medical Battalion in Ermelo, the Military Blood Bank in Utrecht, or at one of the Defence relation hospitals.

The Royal Netherlands Army takes your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Vocational Technical Training.
