Introtekst The Air Force is more than just flying alone. The Royal Air Force Orchestra contributes professionally to the public presentation of the Royal Air Force. The orchestra is one of the only two professional orchestras for light music in the Netherlands and enjoys international recognition. The Royal Air Force Orchestra is a professional military orchestra with 48 military musicians, supported by a technical service and staff. The main task is to support military ceremonies, events and operations, as well as to maintain the musical traditions and heritage of the Royal Air Force. This includes performing at various events such as air shows, parades, and receptions, as well as supporting the morale and welfare of personnel. In addition, the orchestra also performs at cultural events, concerts and festivals, both nationally and internationally. The orchestra is led by a Chief Conductor and has a repertoire that ranges from classical music to popular songs and military marches. The musicians are all members of the Royal Air Force and have received their musical training through the Royal Air Force's Music Service. They are required to maintain a high level of physical fitness, as well as to be able to perform in various environments and under different conditions.
