With (at least) a VMBO GL diploma, you can apply as a Non-Commissioned Officer Military Administration with the Royal Netherlands Army. An office job, but you will also participate in exercises and deployments.

What You Will Do

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Military Administration in the Army, you will work within the Logistics field. You are the right-hand person to the commander and will focus on administrative matters in the areas of HR, finance, business operations, and secretarial tasks. For example, you will ensure that soldiers' exercise allowances are paid on time. In addition to supporting the commander, you can also be deployed for general military tasks, such as operating in the command post of your unit.

Note: there are multiple start dates throughout the year. After applying, you will receive a personal application file containing a call-up date. Please note: this is a fictitious date and therefore not correct. The start date you are eligible for will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the psychological assessment, the medical examination, and the security screening, which are part of the application process. Once all these components have been successfully completed, your start date will be discussed and confirmed.

Where You Will Work

You will be placed within the command group of an (independent) company at one of the Army units in the Netherlands. You will participate in exercises and should take into account that you may be deployed abroad.

Before you start working, you will first complete the Non-Commissioned Officer Training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills. Your training will be completed with a Job-Specific Training at the Defence Training and Education Centre Logistics in Soesterberg. After successfully completing your training, you will immediately begin your career as a Non-Commissioned Officer Military Administration.

The Royal Netherlands Army considers your placement preference, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Job-Specific Training.

As a starting sergeant in military administration, you will be responsible for important matters. For example, you will ensure that soldiers' exercise allowances are paid on time. After a few roles, you will work as a sergeant-major. In this role, you will also be responsible for guiding your junior colleagues.
