Non-Commissioned Officer Military Nurse

Introduction

Receiving and treating wounded patients is the driving force of every Nurse. But what if those patients are soldiers? And what if your workplace is not a regular hospital, but a military field hospital or a mobile first aid team? In the Army, we will train you as a Non-Commissioned Officer Military Nurse, after which you can start working directly and lead your own personnel. Does this sound like the challenge for you? What you will do

As a Non-Commissioned Officer Military Nurse in the Army, you will become part of the extensive medical service within Defense. You are the right-hand person of a military doctor and will work as a nurse and leader. You will work in a military (field) hospital or (mobile) first aid team and manage a team of four others. You will also give lessons to your own personnel. A varied and challenging job, because during exercises and deployments you have fewer diagnostic possibilities than under normal circumstances.

• Challenge: during exercises and deployments, you have fewer diagnostic possibilities than under normal circumstances.

Note: there are multiple start dates throughout the year. After applying, you will receive a personal application file containing a call-up date. Please note: this is a fictional date and therefore incorrect. The start date for which you are eligible will only be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the outcome of the psychological examination, the medical examination, and the security investigation, which are part of the application process. As soon as all these parts have been successfully completed, your start date will be discussed and set.

Where you will work

You will be placed at one of the Army units in the Netherlands. You will participate in exercises and should take into account that you may be deployed abroad.

Before you start working, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all basic military skills, such as map reading and military first aid. Your training will be completed with a Technical Vocational Training (VTO) at the Defense Healthcare Training and Education Center in Hilversum. After successfully completing your training, you will immediately start your career as a Non-Commissioned Officer Military Nurse.

The Royal Army takes your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Vocational Training.
