Job description
Introductory text
Are you interested in medical technology within the Armed Forces? Do you have an MBO-4 diploma in Automation Electronics and do you want to put your knowledge into practice? As a Sergeant Medical Instrumentation Technician (MIT), you can practice your specialization with a particularly challenging and dynamic employer. This way, your mind and body stay in shape.
What you will do
As a Sergeant Medical Instrumentation Technician (MIT), you are a master in the field of medical equipment. Performing preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, adjustment and registration, performing and monitoring updates and upgrades, as well as performing customer-specific modifications are second nature to you. You also don't shy away from testing medical equipment, conducting interim inspections, and managing tool equipment. Does your heart beat faster for technically testing new medical equipment and performing device-specific inspections? Then you've come to the right place! In short, as a Sergeant MIT, you live and breathe medical equipment.
Where you will work
You will work within the Military Medical Instrumentation Technology department of the Military Medical Logistics Center (MGLC). The MGLC is part of the Defense Healthcare Organization (DGO). The MGLC provides medical logistical support to the armed forces domestically and abroad, as well as humanitarian aid provided by the Defense. A particularly fascinating and dynamic work environment therefore! Within this playing field, as a Sergeant MIT, you are co-responsible for keeping existing and new medical equipment in good condition.
After entering service, you will first follow a 15-week training course at the Royal Military School in Ermelo. During the training, you will be taught the basic principles of the military profession. Your first position will also be in Ermelo. As a Sergeant MIT, you have a realistic chance of being deployed or experiencing part of a deployment abroad; you will be flown to a military base or on board a frigate to maintain medical equipment or perform emergency repairs. An important and indispensable task and a unique life experience besides!
The Royal Netherlands Army takes your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Training.
Maybe you doubt. We don't. We see not only who you are now but also who you can become. What you can't do today, you'll learn tomorrow. With good education, training, guidance, and a team that stands behind you.
Take the step How do I prepare?Don't worry, we believe in you. At Defense, you will receive everything you need to grow: good education, training, coaching, and a team that stands behind you. If it doesn't work out, we will help you further. Together we will look for where you belong within Defense.
