This is what you will do

As an Air Defence Fire Control Non-Commissioned Officer in the Air Force, you will support the Fire Control Officer within the fire control crew. Based on radar images, you and your team will determine when a Patriot missile should be fired.

Together with the other Fire Controllers, you will also be responsible for the maintenance, assembly, and monitoring of the Patriot weapon system.

Note: There are different start dates throughout the year. After applying, you will receive a personal application file, which includes a start date. Please note: this is a fictional date and therefore not correct. The start date for which you are eligible will be determined later. This depends, among other things, on the results of the fitness test, the psychological examination, the medical examination, and the security screening, which are part of the application process. As soon as all these components have been successfully completed, your start date will be discussed and confirmed.

This is where you will work

You will work in the fire control center at the Defence Ground-Based Air Defence Command (DGLC) in Vredepeel. You will participate in exercises and must take into account that you may be deployed abroad.

But before you start working, you will first follow the Non-Commissioned Officer Training at the Royal Air Education and Training Center (RAETC) in Woensdrecht, followed by the Functional Training (FO) at the RAETC or at another air force base. After successfully completing your training, you will immediately start your career as an Air Defence Fire Control Non-Commissioned Officer in the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
