What you will do

United on the ground, decisive in the air: that is the motto of Air Defence Air Mobile. As an Air Defence Non-Commissioned Officer Air Mobile, you will lead a team that detects, monitors, and, when necessary, neutralizes threats from the air from the ground. This way, you contribute to the protection of military personnel, civilians, vital objects, and important areas.

You will start as a squad leader. In this role, you will lead a squad during exercises, operational deployments, and the daily activities within the unit. You are responsible for the readiness of your team and ensure that everyone possesses the right knowledge, skills, and physical and mental preparedness.

Within this role, you can work as: Stinger Group Commander (MANPADS – Man Portable Air Defense System).

During the selection and training period, you will have the opportunity to further orient yourself on the various functions within Air Defence Air Mobile.

Where you will work

As an Air Defence Non-Commissioned Officer Air Mobile, you will work at the Air Assault Brigade at the Oranjekazerne in Schaarsbergen (municipality of Arnhem). Together with your team, you will protect vital objects, military units, and important areas in the Netherlands and abroad with advanced air defence systems. In this way, you make a direct contribution to the security of the Netherlands and our allies.

The Royal Netherlands Army will take your preference into account as much as possible when placing you. Deviations from this may occur due to operational or organizational circumstances. You will be informed of your final placement location during the technical training.
