Do you want to work in the exciting world of IT and the Military Police? As a Non-Commissioned Officer Information Provision & Communication and Information Systems (IV&CIS) within the Marechaussee, you will use your ICT skills every day. You will ensure that systems function properly and contribute to peace and security, both in the Netherlands and abroad.

Please note: This is a position as an ICT employee in the rank of Sergeant Major. You will therefore not be on the streets catching criminals. You will primarily work with ICT and assist the organization with technical tasks. If you meet the requirements and apply, you will receive an invitation for an information session. This meeting is mandatory.

What you will do

As a Non-Commissioned Officer IV&CIS within the Marechaussee, you will work in the Netherlands and sometimes abroad. The Marechaussee has many different tasks, such as border control, security, and (military) police duties. You will also sometimes assist in national emergencies. Are you flexible and do you like to take responsibility? Then this varied job is for you!

You will receive a dual education: to become a Non-Commissioned Officer Transmission and Network Administrator. You will ensure that our modern communication equipment always functions correctly. Without you, units, the control room, and the operations center cannot communicate effectively. Together with your team, you will ensure that all IT networks run smoothly. You will not only work with computers and radio systems but also with network equipment. Additionally, you will set up and manage various operational ICT networks. You are the hub and ensure that every mission or operation is successful.

Where you will work

You will work in Huis ter Heide, the home base of CIS KMar. You can be employed at CIS of the National Tactical Command, the Special Security Operations Brigade, or at the 101st Marechaussee Battalion.

Before you start as an ICT Non-Commissioned Officer, you will first undergo training. You will begin with the Non-Commissioned Officers Business Operations Training at the Training, Education, and Knowledge Center of the Royal Marechaussee (OTCKMar) in Apeldoorn. The first 10 weeks, you will learn the basics of the military profession during the General Military Basic Skills (AMBV) training. Think of map reading, shooting, and first aid. During this period, you will sleep at the barracks. Afterward, you will follow a 2-week leadership module. Herein, you will learn how to lead a team.
Subsequently, the vocational training for Non-Commissioned Officer Transmission and Network Administrator will commence. This training is modern and practice-oriented. Afterward, you can specialize further with additional IT training. Have you completed everything? Then you will be a true KMar IT specialist!

​​Note: do you not yet have a swimming certificate? You can still apply! We will then discuss with you whether you can obtain that swimming certificate before your appointment. And the great thing is: the costs for obtaining a swimming certificate will be reimbursed by Defense!
