As an Officer, Technical Support, Air-Land Battle at the Genie, you are the indispensable link in conflicts and peace operations. Do you want to put yourself out for the protection of all places where the military is deployed? This is what you'll do: The Genie – also known as the construction company of the Landmacht – is widely deployable. In addition to laying and clearing mines, they are also involved in building and destroying bridges, roads, and airfields. They also build shelters, observation posts, and combat positions. This is all done with the goal: slowing down the advancing enemy and undoing the work of the enemy Genie. Furthermore, the Genie performs decontamination work on the field of Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) substances. As an Officer, Technical Support, Air-Land Battle, you will lead a group of about ten military personnel. You are responsible for the readiness and deployability of your people and take care of their training and education in individual military skills. Your group supports combat units during combat by making the terrain passable and holding it. At the same time, you try to make the terrain difficult for the enemy to navigate, for example by setting up obstacles. Note: There are multiple start dates throughout the year. The start date where you qualify will be determined later. This is also dependent on psychological research, medical screening, and safety research. Once all parts of the application process have been completed positively, the start date will be discussed and agreed upon with you. Here's where you'll work: You will be working at the Genie unit of the 11 Air-Land Brigade in Schaarsbergen. The Air-Land Brigade is a rapidly deployable unit that can be anywhere in the world within 20 days for tasks such as defending our own territory, disaster relief, and providing humanitarian aid. After induction, you will first follow the Officer Training at the Royal Military School in Ermelo, where you will learn all military basic skills. After completion, you will start with specialized training at the Defense Training Center Genie in Vught. If you do not already have a driving license, you will also follow additional driver's education at the Training Center Driving in Oirschot. When you have earned your red beret, you can start working at the Genie unit. As a military personnel, you will participate in various exercises. Also, keep in mind that you, like every military personnel, may be deployed. VMBO Mixed, VMBO Theoretical, MBO 4, HAVO You are between 17 years and 30 years and 11 months An eye or glasses is no problem.
