What you will do

Within Defense, we have an extensive medical service with our own (dental) doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and pharmacy assistants. During exercises and deployments, a medical unit builds a complete hospital, including an operating room, intensive care, emergency room, nursing ward, and a pharmacy with a medical warehouse. As a military pharmacy assistant, you contribute to pharmaceutical care and the management of medical supplies in a Defense environment. Will you take on this challenge?

Where you will work

Before you start working, you will first complete the specialist training for non-commissioned officers at the Royal Military School in Ermelo. You will learn basic military skills such as shooting, drilling, map reading, and military first aid. This training lasts 15 weeks, and after completion, you will start fulfilling your role.

After completing the training, you will work as a military pharmacy assistant at the central military pharmacy in Utrecht, at the 400th Medical Battalion in Ermelo, or at the Commando Corps in Roosendaal. Further positions are also possible at one of the other Land Force medical units in the country. It is possible that you will participate in exercises, and like every soldier, you must take into account that you may be deployed.

The Royal Netherlands Army considers your placement preference, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Vocational Training.
