Environmental Manager

Your role

As Environmental Manager, you will work closely with the contract team responsible for managing and maintaining a large number of movable bridges and locks in the South-West Netherlands region. You are the point of contact for the environment, ensure that our work runs smoothly and safely, and guarantee that our activities have minimal impact on the environment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Stakeholder management

• Coordinate with the PPO-team Environmental Management of Rijkswaterstaat and other internal departments.
• Maintain contacts with municipalities, provinces, emergency services, companies, subcontractors, and other partners.
• Organize and facilitate participation meetings and consultation structures.

Coordination and support for maintenance contracts

• Coordinate execution plans with minimal impact on the environment and shipping.
• Coordinate detours, diversions, and traffic measures with specialists.
• Signal risks and opportunities and proactively anticipate them.
• Request and coordinate permits.

Licenses and notifications

• Prepare and facilitate environmental permits, slot requests, and notifications independently.
• Submit BAS notifications (Report to Shipping) and BAL notifications (Decision on Activities in the Living Environment) in accordance with legislation.
• Maintain a register and ensure timely submission of documents.

Transition and environmental plans

• Prepare and submit transition plans.
• Integrate environmental aspects into project planning and execution.
• Advise on communication and environmental strategies.
• Manage interface requirements and coordination agreements.

• Salary! At our company, you can count on a salary between €3,900,- and €6,400,- gross per month based on 40 hours per week.
