For Gemeente Utrecht, we are looking for an Environmental Manager. Utrecht needs you!
For the project “Tussen de Rails” and possibly other projects, as a driven Environmental Manager, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Lunetten-Koningsweg area. This area is being developed over the next 10-15 years into a central location in Utrecht Oost/Zuid with more public transportation, homes, offices, shops, and other facilities. Making choices and planning for this takes time.
In the meantime, you will contribute to realizing flexible housing so that Utrechters can find a home faster. There will be 450 homes and 6,400 m2 of office space.

Your tasks
- You set up communication channels with stakeholders to keep them informed about the progress of the project and to understand their concerns and wishes.
- You map out the different stakeholders and their interests, and develop strategies to deal with these.
- You identify possible risks and impact on the environment, such as noise pollution, traffic disruption or environmental effects, and develop plans to mitigate these. You also estimate the administrative impact.
- You ensure that the project meets all relevant legislation and regulations and requests the necessary permits.
- You organize meetings or information evenings to increase community involvement and collect feedback.
As an Environmental Manager, you guarantee a good relationship between the project, the environment, and the administration. This way, you make a significant contribution to the success and acceptance of the project.
Your profile
- You have HBO work and thinking level.
- You possess at least 3 years of work experience as an Environmental Manager, preferably more.
- You have at least 2 years of experience with civil engineering projects.
- You hold the VCA-VOL certificate.
- You possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, especially when dealing with business partners.
- You work independently and proactively.
- You strive for quality and seek conditions by asking critical questions.
- You see the bigger picture and know where the project stands and is going.
- You are a team player, can connect and gives space to others' input.
- You can flexibly handle changing time schedules and planning.
