See below some responsibilities of the position:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• To perform service and other orders described in the “Permanent Orders of the Chief of Machines”;
• To substitute for the Sub-Chief of Machines in their absence or inability;
• To record occurrences of the machine quarter service in the Machine Diary;
• To take charge of services that may be performed with resources on board, as well as maintenance and adjustment of various equipment;
• To operate and ensure the good functioning of motors, electrical system, refrigeration, pumps, steering system, load-moving devices, fuel oil system, lubricant, and others as instructed by your superior;
• To perform planned and routine maintenance on equipment under your responsibility;
• To participate in supplying the vessel when in service;
• To monitor compliance with legal requirements within your area of operation;
• In the absence or inability of the Safety Technician on board, ensure that safety tools are performed within your area of operation, such as Work Permit, Tool Box Talk, APR, etc. To do this, request assistance from the Chief of Machines/Sub-Chief of Machines whenever necessary.
• To maintain the vessel's ability to face the sea;
• To operate all internal communication systems;
• To be familiar with emergency procedures, remote control change for local and vice versa;
• To keep installations, equipment, and utensils entrusted to you in good operating condition, organization, and cleanliness;
• When designated by your superior, familiarize and instruct Machine Practitioners and apprentices following the checklist presented by them;
• To check if your “Maritime Health Certificate” is valid and ensure that its renewal is done before its expiration;
• To participate in integrated tasks;
• To take precautions and contribute to preventing marine environment pollution
• To work with care and technique, using necessary PPE for performing your duties safely and requiring others involved to do the same;
• To know your function and other described in the emergency task table of the vessel;
• To inform yourself about the distribution and operation of safety and salvage equipment on board;
• To participate in risk assessments before activities.

Requirements

What is essential that you present:

• Completed higher education - STCW III/1;
• Certificates of the function valid;
• Experience in the function;
• Desejável experience on vessels handling anchors and/or subsea operations;
• Advanced English (will be tested).

You'll crush it if you have:

• Experience on AHTS and/or subsea vessels;
• DP Technician Kongsberg.
