You will then lead a department within the Communication and Information Systems (CIS) organization of the Royal Netherlands Army.

Note: If you are hired for this position, you will be appointed within Defense with the job title 'Communications Officer'.

What you will do

The Communications Service is the ICT company of the Army and is responsible for all communication equipment and connections. The optimal functioning of the connections is important to ensure that the right information is distributed safely and on time.

As a

Communications Officer (Telecommunications and ICT), you will lead a platoon of the Communications Service of approximately 50 soldiers. You are responsible for the deployability of the platoon and the materiel, and for establishing the connections during exercises and operations. You will gain experience in all facets of ICT management: from hardware, software, and networks, to personnel management and finance. Because both the materiel and your people must be in perfect condition, you will also oversee your team's training. Do you want to develop broadly in the field of ICT management? Where you will work

As a Communications Officer (Telecommunications and ICT), you will start as a platoon commander at the Command & Control Support Command (C2OstCo) in Stroe, at the Communication & Information Systems battalion (CISBn) in Eibergen or Stroe, or at the Electronic Warfare Company (EOVcie) in 't Harde. You will thus contribute to the tasks of the Communications Service: at the barracks, during exercises, and during deployment.

Before you start, you will follow the accredited Military Scientific Education at the Royal Military Academy in Breda, followed by a Technical Vocational Training (VTO).

The Royal Netherlands Army will take your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Vocational Training.

As a Communications Officer (Telecommunications and ICT), you will start as a platoon commander at the Command & Control Support Command (C2OstCo) in Stroe, at the Communication & Information Systems battalion (CISBat) in Eibergen, or at the Electronic Warfare Company (EOVcie) in 't Harde. After your initial role, you can progress to subsequent positions at higher levels, generally within the Communications Service. It is also possible to specialize as a technical developer. In the future, as an officer, you can also advance to more general leadership, advisory, and management functions that are necessary for the direction of Defense in general and the Royal Netherlands Army in particular.
