What you will do

The Supply & Transport is responsible for the logistics chain of the Army: the supply of exercises and deployments with, among other things, ammunition, fuel, food, and water. To transport the large quantity of goods and materials, all road transports are planned, executed, and supervised. The transport consists of various types of trucks, tractor-trailer combinations, telehandlers, forklifts, and vehicles for special transports. In addition, Supply & Transport also provides various mobile services such as drinking water installations, satellite kitchens, and bath/laundry facilities.

As a Logistics Officer Supply & Transport in the Army, you will lead approximately 40 people within your logistics platoon. An essential function, because together you ensure that your fellow soldiers and their equipment lack nothing. You oversee all internal logistical processes and maintain contact with internal suppliers, gaining knowledge of the SAP supply management system.

You are responsible for the supply, management, and maintenance of transport and equipment. You also oversee all logistical processes, prepare reports, and maintain contact with suppliers. The training, education, guidance, and assessment of personnel are part of your responsibilities. You ensure that your people can be deployed at all times.

Where you will work

As a Logistics Officer Supply & Transport, after training, you will start in a leadership position as a platoon commander in one of the logistics companies of the Supply & Transport Command (B&TCo) in Stroe. You will thus contribute to the tasks of supply & transport: at the barracks, during exercises, and during (inter)national deployments.

Before you start working, you will first complete the Military Scientific Education at the Royal Military Academy (KMA) of the Netherlands Defence Academy (NLDA) in Breda, followed by a Technical Skills Training at the Training and Education Centre Logistics in Soesterberg.

The Royal Army takes your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Skills Training.

As a Logistics Officer Supply & Transport, you start as a platoon commander in one of the logistics companies of the Supply & Transport Command (B&TCo) in Stroe. After your initial role, you can progress to subsequent positions at higher levels, generally within Logistics. In the future, as an Officer, you can also advance to more general leadership, advisory, and management roles that are necessary for the command of Defence in general and the Royal Army in particular.
