Are you a fully trained Intensive Care nurse who wants to further develop your specialty in a unique work environment? Under the leadership of an anesthesiologist/intensivist, you will be responsible for the medical care of patients in an ICU within a team of five colleagues.

What you will do

Medical care within the Army differs significantly from that in 'civilian' society. During exercises and deployments, a medical unit, for example, builds a complete sick bay with operating rooms, treatment rooms, and intensive care units. And sometimes you have to do your work under difficult conditions: in freezing cold, extreme heat, or pitch darkness. As an IC Nurse in the army green, you are responsible for, among other things, nursing care in the Intensive Care unit of a military field hospital. In addition, you provide professional assistance and, together with the anesthesiology assistant, contribute to the recovery process. A versatile and challenging job!

Where you will work

You will be assigned to the 400 Medical Battalion in Ermelo. Like every soldier, you must take into account that you may be deployed. But first, you will complete the 10-week officer specialist training at the Royal Military Academy in Breda.

The Royal Netherlands Army takes your placement preference into account, but may deviate from the initial placement preference for organizational reasons. The Royal Netherlands Army will inform you about your actual placement during the Technical Training.

As an Officer Intensive Care Nurse, you are responsible for, among other things, the nursing care in the Intensive Care unit of a military field hospital. Within the Army, there are various opportunities for you to develop yourself further, including in your field of expertise.
