Officer Hydrograaf (HBO)

This is what you'll do

As an Officer Hydrograaf, you will work at the Militaire Hydrografie & METOC department of the Royal Marine. Your tasks will include making civilian or military hydrographic surveys and processing the collected data to support maritime operations or exercises.

You will also collect and process data from national and international civil and military data sources. For this position, you must be flexible and able to work independently, but also enjoy working in a team.

This is where you'll work

You will work at the Militaire Hydrografie & METOC department of the Dienst der Hydrografie in Den Haag or Den Helder. Your working area will primarily be the North Sea, with occasional over-seas areas. You will participate in exercises and must take into account that you may be deployed.

Before starting work, you will first follow a 10-week Specialistenopleiding at the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Marine (KIM). After successfully completing your training, you will begin your career as an Officer Hydrograaf at the Royal Marine.
