Are you in your final year of school? Don't wait until after your exams, apply now and have a chance at a training position! Do you want to prepare yourself as well as possible for your interview with the Entry Advisory Committee (ACI)? Do you want to be trained to lead a unit that is deployable worldwide under all circumstances? And are you interested in the functioning of military organizations, both in peacetime and in crisis situations? Then follow the training to become a Marine Officer, including a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

After you have applied, you will be invited for the Marine Fitness Test. If you pass that, you will then receive an invitation for the medical examination.

What you will do

As a Marine Officer, you are deployable worldwide under all circumstances. In icy cold and tropical heat, in the city and on rough terrain. You will go on bivouacs at home and abroad (also during your training) and can also be deployed for special missions or deployments in a risk area. However, a large part of your time you will lead a Troop at the barracks in the Netherlands.
After a few years, you can follow a specialization in, for example, anti-tank weapons, mortars, or with another specialized unit. You can also be considered for deployment as a Marine Officer in the West (Sint Maarten, Aruba, or Curaçao).

Where you will work

First, you will follow the Marine Training, a 24-week program in Rotterdam. During this training, various courses will be covered, including shooting training, basic helicopter training, amphibious skills, field weeks, and a three-week mountain training abroad.

After this Marine Training, you will follow the POTOM (Practical Training for Marine Officer) for 16 to 24 weeks, after which you will proceed to the Operator Course of 16 weeks.

Your 4-year and 10-month training will largely take place at the Royal Netherlands Naval College (KIM) in Den Helder.
