This is what you'll do

The Cavalry has always been the name for military personnel who moved themselves on horseback. Nowadays, they do that with armed tanks, armored vehicles, and on foot.

The Dutch Defense currently uses German tanks manned by Dutch military personnel. As an Officer Cavalerie Tank Duitsland, you will work as a platoon commander within 414 Panzerbataillon in Bergen-Hohne (Germany). Here, you are responsible for the readiness of your people and equipment. In consultation with your successor platoon commander, you will ensure the planning and execution of tasks but also of lessons and training programs. Additionally, you will take care of personnel and logistical matters and for intelligence and security within the tank platoon. You will participate in exercises with the tank platoon, attend meetings and discussions, and ensure proper maintenance of the available equipment. You contribute to the tasks of the cavalry tank: at the barracks, during exercises, and during deployment.

This is where you'll work

As an Officer Cavalerie Tank Duitsland, you will start after the training in a leadership position as platoon commander at the Dutch tank squadron of the German 414 Panzerbataillon in Bergen-Hohne (Germany).

Before you get started, you will first follow the Military Scientific Training (MWO), followed by the Vocational Training. It is possible that both the Military Scientific Training (MWO) and the Vocational Training will be given entirely or partially in Germany at a German training institute in Dresden and/or Münster. Here, you will take lessons with German (aspirant) officers, and the language of instruction is German.

Your starting salary depends on your age, education level, and experience. As your knowledge and experience increase, so does your salary with you. In addition to your salary, as a military member, you will receive various structural and incidental allowances. The mentioned salaries on werkenbijdefensie.nl already include the VEB allowance.
