Nurse Unit Manager - Rehabilitation

About the role The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager, with excellent leadership skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care to join our Banksia ward on a full time basis. As Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) you will be a role model of our Victorian Rehabilitation Hospitals values and responsible for providing leadership direction to Banksia ward to support the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital. You will also be expected to lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and patient centred care within your team. Responsibilities: • Provide leadership direction to Banksia ward staff, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality patient care and meet the needs of patients with complex rehabilitation needs. • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, reduce length of stay, and increase patient satisfaction. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans for patients with complex rehabilitation needs. • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in delivering high-quality patient care. • Develop and manage the Banksia ward budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and standards. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice. Requirements: • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field. • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role, preferably in a rehabilitation setting. • Proven track record of improving patient outcomes and reducing length of stay. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and patient centred care within your team.
