What You'll Be Doing
As Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational and professional leadership within your ward or unit, ensuring high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.
Lead, coordinate and manage nursing and midwifery staff Ensure safe, effective and patient focused care delivery Manage ward operations including patient flow and resource allocation Promote professional integrity, accountability and ethical practice Support staff development, education and continuous improvement

Essential Criteria
Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)
Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive management experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role. Recent relevant clinical and management experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation. Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
