Job description
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Child Health Nurse to lead the delivery of the Connected Beginnings program. Based in Katherine NT, this role involves regular outreach travel to surrounding communities and forms part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused on improving outcomes for children aged 0–5 years.
You’ll work closely with families to provide culturally appropriate care, support early childhood development, increase school readiness, and strengthen community health literacy through education and capacity-building.

- Base salary up to $124,114/year plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent full-time position
- 6 weeks annual leave + 18% leave loading

- Deliver health services for children aged 0–5, including growth monitoring, immunisations, and Healthy Under 5’s checks
- Support antenatal and postnatal care, breastfeeding, parenting education, and early bonding
- Collaborate with health professionals, welfare services, and families for coordinated care
- Facilitate referrals and case management to help families access the right support
- Promote health literacy and school readiness through education and early intervention
- Build partnerships across agencies to strengthen program integration and outcomes

What You’ll Bring
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife
- Experience in child health, midwifery, or community health services
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with Aboriginal families in remote settings
- Current manual driver’s licence, National Police Clearance, and OCHRE Card (or ability to obtain)
- Full working rights in Australia
