Newbuilding Superintendent (0227 November 2024)

Royal Ocean Marine is seeking a skilled Newbuilding Superintendent for our client to oversee the construction of new vessels from inception to delivery. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including shipyards, surveyors, and designers, ensuring that the build process adheres to the specifications, timelines, and quality standards established by the company. The Newbuilding Superintendent plays a critical role in preventing issues during the construction phases and ensuring that all aspects of the project are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard. Key responsibilities include: • Coordinating with shipyards, surveyors, and designers to ensure compliance with specifications, timelines, and quality standards; • Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues early on; • Developing and implementing corrective actions to address any deviations from the project plan; • Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle; • Maintaining accurate records of all activities, including meetings, inspections, and correspondence. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., naval architecture, engineering, or construction management); • At least 5 years of experience in shipbuilding or a related field; • Strong understanding of shipbuilding processes, including design, construction, and testing; • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines; • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
